Location: Houston, TX
Reports to: CTO, Houston
Travel: Up to 25%

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS or MIS, or Electrical Engineering
- Current vendor certifications
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years in hardware technology and Windows Server (Unix/Linux a plus) platforms
- Minimum of 4 years in a Consulting Engineer or similar position
Job Description
- Provide implementation services of hardware and software based solutions for ASG's product offerings primarily from Network Appliance, VMware, Microsoft, Symantec Software and other primary vendors (Estimated 70%)
- Gather pre-sales site information and estimate project scope for installation/integration, both in conjunction with sales force members for both systems and service solutions (Estimated 10%)
- Assist pre-sales technical consultants in gathering information to develop ASG-provided solutions (Estimated 10%)
- Attend and acquire, on an ongoing basis, technical training and manufacturer certifications (Estimated 10%)
- Conduct all ASG Consulting Services related business in an appropriate and customer-focused manner
- Track, organize, and conduct projects and assignments efficiently
- Develop and maintain relationships with customer and vendor technical contacts
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server, Exchange Architecture and Administration, and Microsoft AD
- Strong understanding and experience with Network Appliance's storage products
- Strong working knowledge and experience with VMware, Microsoft, moderate knowledge of Linux and Solaris operating systems beneficial
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with storage solutions from the major storage vendors (HDS, EMC,)
- Intermediate knowledge of SAN architecture and implementation, iSCSI, and NAS technologies (Brocade)
- Knowledge of Backup and Recovery technologies, including tape and disk products (NetBackup, TSM, Commvault)
- Technical knowledge and understanding of methodologies for achieving High Availability, including clustering; working knowledge of a Microsoft Based Clustering
- Working knowledge of Enterprise security and network practices and products
- Strong verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor dialogue to targeted audience
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience in writing documentation, assisting with Statement of Work (SOW) development, and written correspondence with customers and vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal team members, customers and vendors
- Must have the ability to estimate scope and effort accurately in order to prepare level of effort (LOE) documents
- Must be detail-oriented
