The Cisco MDS 9222i Multi-service Modular Switch delivers state-of-the-art multi-protocol and distributed multi-service convergence, offering high-performance storage area network (SAN) extension and disaster recovery solutions, intelligent fabric services such as Storage Media Encryption, and cost-effective multi-protocol connectivity. With a compact form factor, the modularity of the expansion slot and advanced capabilities normally available only on Director-class switches, the MDS 9222i is an ideal solution for departmental and remote branch-office SANs requiring the features present in a Director but at a lower cost of entry.

Cisco MDS 9216/9216A Multilayer Fabric Switch

The Cisco MDS 9216/9216A Multilayer Fabric Switch brings new capabilities to the fabric switch market, combining multilayer intelligence and a modular chassis with a compact form factor and low price point. As the storage network expands, Cisco MDS 9000 Family modules can be migrated from the Cisco MDS 9216/9216A into Cisco MDS 9500 Series Multilayer Directors, providing smooth migration, common sparing, and outstanding investment protection.

Cisco MDS 9216i Multilayer Fabric Switch

The Cisco MDS 9216i Multilayer Fabric Switch integrates Fibre Channel and IP into a single form factor, providing fourteen 2-Gbps Fibre Channel interfaces and two Gigabit Ethernet ports which can be configured to support either Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) for long distance SAN extension or iSCSI for cost-effective SAN expansion. As the storage network expands, Cisco MDS 9000 Family modules can be migrated from the Cisco MDS 9216i into Cisco MDS 9500 Series Multilayer Directors, providing smooth migration, common sparing, and outstanding investment protection.
